The customer wants a table that does not exist yet. You price it and send it on WhatsApp.

They pay a deposit by M-Pesa so you can buy the timber. No chasing.

Your fundis build it. You see every job and what stage it is in.

Questions makers ask.
How do customers pay?
By M-Pesa. Checkout on your storefront uses an M-Pesa prompt on the customer’s phone, and deposits and layaway payments are recorded against the order.
What is layaway?
It is lipa pole pole: the customer pays for a big piece in instalments. You set the plan, Lignea records every payment, works out the balance and sends reminders.
What about customer data and the Data Protection Act?
Your customers’ details stay in your shop and are kept apart from other shops. Broadcasts only go to customers who opted in, and customers can opt out. Ask us if you need our data-processing terms.
Does it do eTIMS?
Not yet. KRA eTIMS invoices are on our roadmap, planned for the Showroom plan. We will say so here when they are live.
Can I use my own domain?
Yes. Every shop starts on its own Lignea address, and you can ask us to put your own domain on it.
What happens to my data?
It is your shop’s data. If you leave, ask us and we will help you take your customers and orders with you.
Do I need a card to start?
No. Billing is not switched on yet, so Lignea is free during early access and we do not ask for payment details.
